Family Fun At The Seaside For Drive-it Day 2016 !
Yesterday Rocky, the girls, and I, had a lovely day out in our Mini-Moke doll car, winding our way through the scenic East Anglian countryside, accompanying HAMOC – Huntingdon Area Mini Owners Club – www.HAMOC.co.uk on their day trip to the sandy beach of Hunstanton, as part of Drive-it Day 2016.
Here we are in this piccy, having just arrived at our destination too !
Considering it’s the end of April now, you’d think we’d have a reasonable chance of some nice weather for this excursion of ours too. However it was rather more chilly and blustery than we anticipated when we arrived at the seaside. In fact, with the northerly winds etc it was supposed to only feel about 1 degree … Brrrrr !!
As much as Ruby and Emma had been looking forward to playing on the beach, once we parked up we quickly decided that it would be better to pursue some indoor activities rather than brave the near frosty conditions outside. So we spent our day in the amusement arcade instead, mainly on the 2 penny shover machines … Which I must admit amused the girls no end, thank heavens. Our efforts were not in vain either, as with many 2p’s invested, Rocky skillfully managed to win a dinosaur toy for our sweet little daughters, making him the hero of the day in their eyes … Bless !
After a few very enjoyable hours of family fun though, it was time to get back in the car again and head back home in convoy with the other Mini’s.
We had a wonderful day out despite the weather, and it was a great way to spend Drive-it Day with family and friends, which I hope to repeat again next year as well.
Perhaps next time we go to the beach the temperatures might be a touch warmer though … Fingers crossed
