** Summer Holiday Sizzler ! **
Enjoying a relaxed family barbecue on our recent North York Moors vacation.
Would you believe that last week, Rocky, the Girls, and I, were once again whisked away by the human overlord. This time for our Summer holiday !! … Blimey, hey. It doesn’t seem like 5 minutes since our last little break, and yet here we were again adventuring away from home. Not that I’m complaining of course. I mean, considering the fact we’re dolls an’all, my family and I do get about a fair bit.
But anyway, back to the point again …
The four of us spent a lovely relaxing week in the holiday cottage as it happens, which was situated in the picturesque moorland village of Goathland. After the bustle of our last jaunt to the Lake District though, this time we decided to take things at a much more restful and chilled pace … Mmmm, it was heaven !
We played games with Ruby and Emma in the garden, sunbathed, picnic’d, climbed trees (Eeeek !! But thankfully not too high), and generally had a wonderful laid-back time together as a family. Plus, as you can see from this piccy, we also had time for a few sizzling barbecue dinners as well. Which the Munchkin’s enjoyed no end.
Makes you almost feel hungry just looking at it, doesn’t it ? … Slobber ! Drooooooool !!
Mind you, when Ruby kept asking Daddy if he was gonna make the burgers and sausages all black and crispy just like Mummy does, I had to cringe a touch in embarrassment. I’m really not great at cooking you see, by comparison however my husband is rather good at it. So Rocky seemed to find the whole thing hilarious … Typical. Men, hey !!
Thankfully, despite his sneaky smirk at the time, my astute spouse knew better than to comment out-loud on such matters himself though …. Ahem !!
Moving along once more now though …
Apart from that one small embarrassing setback on my part however, we all spent a lovely carefree week together up in Yorkshire. So now that we’re home again, and I’m feeling all refreshed and revived from my Summer respite, I’m ready to get on with the bustle of daily life once more.
I cant help but wonder what OTHER unexpected surprises this sunny season may have in store for us dolls ? … But I suppose I’ll find out soon enough.
In the meantime, I hope you’re all having a fantastic Summer yourselves ?
